My first broken bone

Well, last Thursday night while playing tennis with a few friends from work, I jumped up to hit a ball back and landed down hard twisting my right foot to the outside.I heard a crack, and fell like sack of potatoes...LOL...and tears springing to my eyes.Feeling like a dill, but worried that I had broken it.The girls wrapped it for me and Trish drove me home in my car.Alan got ice packs etc and then re-wrapped it.I didn't have a good nights sleep.

Anyhow next morning, rang in sick and thought I better make an appointment at the DR's , just in case, as there was a huge lump on the side of my foot.Went to DR, and she sent me for X-rays, and then came back and was told yes I have broken the bone that leads down to my little toe. You can see it here in my X-ray

So, it has been a painful couple of days, with trying to keep it up.I have crutches which are going to be interesting at work next week, going up and down stairs.Might have to see if I can arrange things differently. It has been really aching today, so am at odds as to whether I should take the next week off work or not.Hopefully the DR's will give me an answer tomorrow morning.Foot is still quite swollen today.I have taken a photo as the girls in SP wanted to see.
It is the right one.

One thing though, it is given me some time to scrap, which has been very therapeautic. Here is a card I did for Jewls challenge in Scrap-Pile.

And a couple of LO's that I finished yesterday and this morning.I love the new BG ranges, Ambrosia and Granola especially.

Thanks for dropping by and leaving a comment, as I love to read them and love that you visit.Hope you all have had a very happy, scrappy weekend. Here's to a better week ahead.

  2. Hi Mel,
Hope the news is better at the Docs this morning - crutches ARE the pits - but on the bright side you ARE able to scrap up a storm. All looking beautiful I reckon.
Talk later today. I have a trip to Malanda sometime this week to Kaths - hope to see you then.
    Love Mum.

  5. OMG! You poor thing! I pulled a muscle the first and only time I played lawn bowls! Sport is not as good for you as everyone thinls!!!

Love the circle card... Mum'll be envious of the pom-pom trim... she keeps trying to steel mine! Grr!

Hope you're feeling better soon... but not too soon that the scrap-fest has to stop too quickly!
