We have a new addition to our family

We have a new kitty cat in our family .I went to work on Friday and one of the students in Williams class had found a little black kitten on the side of the road walking to school. She had been trying to get the office to ring her Mum to ask if she could keep it, but her Mum said no.So I said that he could come home with me.He was very lucky that he was found by those girls because it poured with rain for a couple of hours later in the morning. So we have called him STORMY, and he has fit right in.He was instantly comfy, not scared at all, and is soo cuddly and smoochy.Has a real little character , which I am sure is going to give us all many hours of fun and laughs. The boys adore him. Here are a couple of photos that I took yesterday.

Cast is off at long last

Well after 6 long weeks, I finally got my leg /foot cast off yesterday.Saw the specialist and then went and got it off, then had to have another X-ray done to see how it was going. He actually met me in the corridor coming back from X-ray, and when he held it up, I saw a crack still there, and started to feel down again, as I thought I would have to get another cast on.He told me to go back to the waiting room until he called me.When I sat down with him again, he said I won't need a cast on again, but I have to keep using one crutch, and take it very carefully getting around.Because of the place I did it, he said it takes a long time to heal.So could be another 6-8 weeks before I can go dancing/running/exercising etc......I am just so very relieved to have it off.Such a weight lifted off not only my leg, but my mind as well.I felt like it was dragging me down.

Very strange feeling when you go to walk on it again after such a long time. All the muscles , that you don't realise you use, were all weak and tender. My heel felt numb, and shot like lightning bolts up my leg each time I walked. My calf muscles were spasming...Hope to never have to go through that experience again.

Ahhhh that feels better....LOL I actually had a student write on it the other day...only one .He wrote" YOU ARE THE BEST", that meant a lot coming from this boy as he is a bit of a rebel.

Well, I don't know whether you really want to see this, but Jaki and Jewls asked to see it.....MY HAIRY YAK LEG......It took a lot to shave this all off I can tell you

Oh , and I just drove my car for the first time in six weeks......HOW FANTASTIC and independent I felt....yippeeeeee.

Thanks for all your love and support over the past 6 weeks, couldn't have gotten through it all without all your friendship...

2. Post the rules on your blog.

4. Tag 6 people at the end of your post.

Ok here goes:

2. I have my REDBELT in Tae Kwon Do...so don't mess with me...nah only joking.I did it for 5 years.

3.When I was in school I wanted to be a hairdresser...don't know how I would have done this , as I am terrible with my own hair..LOL

Back to work at long last

After a whole, looong month at home after breaking the bone in my foot, I am finally back to some normality.I returned to work yesterday, which was so good for my soul.I was really feeling depressed about it and wondering if I was ever going to go back. This having to depend on people to do things for me and take me places, because I can't drive, is really taking its toll.

Seeing all the little faces who were happy to see me again, as well as a few big faces of my workfriends, was truly uplifting.I am tired by the end of the day, as getting around on the crutches and lugging the cast takes the energy away. Not too mention the muggy, sweat inducing heat we have been having up here for the past couple of weeks.

You don't realise just how much you love something until you aren't doing it anymore.I am going to stay as positive as I can about my work timetable next year.Believe in my abilities and qualities, and know that all will be OK. If the bosses don't see that I love my job and give my all, then they are losing out...not me.

Everything else at home is going OK.Can't wait to be able to actually clean properly, as the walls, ceilings, blinds all need cleaning, especially before Christmas and the next WET SEASON we get up here in the North.
Steven is getting very excited about Christmas, and asks me everyday when are we putting up the Tree, decorations and when is Chrsitmas Day itself...Is someone getting excited? OR WHAT!!!!!! LOL. I can really feel the spirit right now and it feels good.

Scrap -pile is really buzzing with Chrissy spirit, and I am busy preparing for a couple of classes I will be posting on the last weekend of November...29-30th .All 4 DT will be posting classes over the weekend with some games thrown in too.You can choose to do classes then ,or come back and do them later on when you have more time.A really good prize will be on offer for the person to earn the most points.

Last week, I got the bug to scrap some more Wedding Photos, so here are the two LO's.

I am really loving trying the new Technique I got from Gabrielle, as I feel it suits Wedding Pics perfectly.Might get some more done over the School holidays.Only 3 and half weeks left now. Will have to put the pool up again soon, nothing nicer than coming home and jumping in in this heat.

Wishing you all a terrific week, already halfway through November...wowsers

Shabby Chic Crafts

You are wondering .....who are they? Well , I was blogging a few weeks back and came across this website and I literally started drooling, and just had to make an order. It was sooo hard to stop at what I got. I will say, it was cheap postage, just under $3 US , Great service and communication and it took 2 and half weeks to get here....not bad.Thank you so much Veronica.Onto some EYE CANDY now.

I apologise about some of the photos, the light isn't too good here today. There is stacks more to look at, and I have added in the link to the wesite on the sidebar.I am also going to try and see if Justine can make an order so that we can get them into the Scrap-pile store.

I feel like sharing some of these goodies, so the first five lucky ladies to leave a comment will get sent a little package of goodness, please remember to mention the ones you love the most.

A couple of LO's to share

I had a really good weekend.I scrapped quite a bit in between tidying up , as much as I can, and having my little nephew Joshua over to stay on the Sturday night.Heloves to come and stay as he is an only child, and we don't get to see much of each other when school is on.He is such a little chatterbox, really is an old soul in a little body I think.

I am starting to feel loads better and can honestly say, that my foot only twinges every now and then now, which is fantastic.Only 16 days till I get the cast off and I will be free again.
It has been so unbearably hot the past week, that all I want to do is have a cool shower, but the thought of going through all the crap to get there just puts me off.Roll on 16 days I say....LOL.Can't come quick enough.

OK onto my LO's I did over the past few days. The first one is a DT LO using Scenic Route Christmas paper from last year called Roxbury.I just loved working with this paper. It is a photo( has a little red eye in it) of my boys over 2 years ago at their Auntie's home. They always eye off their cousin Camerons Guitars.Well this day, he let them hold it and have a bit of a play, so they were very excited.

The second one , I wanted to try a technique that a very talented lady called Gabrielle uses .She doe s alot of tearing and distressing.I adore her work and she really inspired me to give it a try. Thanks Gabrielle , you are truly an amazingly talented lady.

I just love the new products that Prima is making these days, and even better , that you can use so much of their packaging as I did here beneath my photo and as a journalling card. Thanks for visiting and I love to read your comments.Take care and I wish you a very happy, healthy and scrappy week.

Hugs, Mel x

I am feeling much better

Thanks to all of you that left lovely , supportive comments in my last post.I think it was my lowest point and a lot of tears flowed, but maybe needed to flow, to begin to feel better. It really helped me to know you all cared.

I have made a decision about work, and am going to go and talk with the Principal, as I only spoke to the Deputy the other day. Also, depending on what happens there, I am going to go back and finish my Cert 3 in Teacher Aide.I still need to talk with Centrelink, but hopefully all will work out for the best.

Had an interesting weekend with the neighbours, but decided to stand up for myself and go over and have my say.In short, things seem to be OK now, although there has been lots of yelling and swearing over there today.I so worry for their two kids.

I am struggling with this new cast, as my foot has been placed at an odd angle so that the bones are placed together to heal.So am still using both crutches.Hope to get a cast shoe this week. Here is a piccy of my pretty PINK cast.

I haven't been doing too much scrapping the past few days, except for a baby album for a work friend, although I can now show you my first DT LO for November, and my example for my manufacturers challenge at Scrap-pile this week.I post my challenge the first week of every month, so if you haven't joined in yet, come along and give it a go.

Just had to show you what I made yesterday for the very first time, a Carrot and Walnut cake from scratch. It is a recipe of my Mums that I have always been too scared to try.But it turned out beautifully and tastes even better. It also has the delicious Cream Cheese Frosting. Are you drooling yet? LOL

Hope you all have a really nice first week of November. Melbourne Cup day tomorrow and I will get to see the race for the first time in 3 years.I love to watch it.
Until next time, take care.
