Some creating going on

Just a few things I have been scrapping lately.

Some cards for Julies Challenge for this months CC at Scrap-pile

Am working on something else that I got with my DT kit for August. And also on the Circle journal that I got from Leah on Friday.

In Loving memory of a beautiful friend

The most beautiful soul anyone could know, passed away last Sunday 20th July 2008, of a suspected Heart attack at the young ole age of 55. I have known Elna for about 10 years, since we began growing Chrysanthemums. We used to sell them at our local servo in town where Elna worked and had done for years, and did so until the morning she passed away.

She was honest, fun-loving,jovial and kind hearted.I am sure that I could think of lots more words to describe her, but am finding it hard through my tears.I will always remember her calling me"LIS" as she always did whenever we saw each other.I had only spoken to hear only a couple of days before , where we were talking about how much we were looking forward to going to a mutual friends 5oth B'day party the following weekend.

Elna forever had a smile on her face and a welcoming word for everyone who walked into her work place. She will be one lady that just cannot be replaced.Too special.

Here is a poem that was spoken at her celebration of her life.

You can shed a tear,

Or you can smile because she lived.

You can close your eyes and pray she'll come back

Or you can open your eyes and see all that she's left you.

Your heart can be empty because you can't see her

Or you can be full of the love you've shared.

You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday

Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.

You can remember her and only that she's gone

Or you can cherish her memory and let it live on.

You can cry and close your mind

Be empty and turn your back

Or you can do what she'd want

Smile, open your eyes, live and go on.

Sorry about the blurry photo. It is all I have right now.

Elna , my friend, I am going to miss you heaps, but you will always be in my heart.Love you.

Fun at the local show.

Our local show was on last weekend, and we took the boys for just a quick trip on the Saturday night.Joshua came over to stay too and they all had a blast together. Here are some pics from their great afternoon.

That is Josh in the brown shirt at the bottom there, on the giant jumping castle.

William and Steven at the top about to jump.
Next was the Dodgems, which proved so popular that they went on twice.

Josh had a ball with William at the helm.LOL
William wanted to go on the WHIZZER too, but I wasn't feeling well enough for being spun around and around. And Alan wouldn't even step a toe on the thing as he would probably start puking the minute he did.He doesn't do motion very well I am afraid. Here they are just before we head home after eating an Hot chips and an Icecream.
A great time was had that is for sure.

Have been scrapping

Just wanted to share what I ahve been creating this past week since I got back. The ABBA, in cream and black is for a challenge in the forum at http://www.scrap-pile.com.au/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2594 ... and the next two are my DT for the month of JULY.

Thanks for looking.

Camping trip on the first week of the school holidays

Thought I would share a few photos of our trip away to O'Briens Creek camp ground and gem fields. It is about a 3 hour drive from the Atherton Tablelands. We had a blissful week out there and went digging every day to find the elusive BLUE TOPAZ.We found one small, very pale one.

Lots of sitting by the fire every night , gazing at the stars and eating toasted marshmallows( well mine were on fire most of the time...lol).I must admit I do feel a lot better.

As you can see, it was perfect weather.Beautiful warm days and cool nights...not freezing as we thought it would be.Luckily.

A fish was caught, let go, caught again the next day and then promptly eaten for dinner.

There was also still a fair bit of water still running in the creek which was a bonus

Beautiful sunsets...oh how I wish I had a better camera...one day.

Stevo learnt to ride his bike...what an exciting day for him, and we couldn't stop him after that.

Our campsite.

Mucking around taking some photos together.
And lastly, here are the TOPAZ( bottom right side), and GARNETS( on top left).
