Home from Holidays

And what a HOLIDAY it was.

Got up early last Sunday morning and got to Justines, then we drove to Cairns. We took the boys to see the movie WALL-E, and it was great...definitely reccomend it .Then we did some shopping and tried to fit in all in to Justines car.You should have seen it, the boys had stuff all around them and under their feet....LOL.

We arrived at Kurrimine at around 2pm, unpacked, and then headed for the beach. How BEAUTIFUL it was too.The boys were bursting with energy, so we went for a looong walk.

Then I got the most stunning photo of them late in the afternoon , looking over the reef that was out from low tide.

Monday, saw us driving North about 20 minutes to ETTY BAY near Mourilyn Harbour. It is the most GORGEOUS beach, and if you are ever up this way, certainly one to visit. The sand is sooo soft and the beach really flat. The boys had a blast body surfing for hours.

We got back to our Motel room in time to get ready to go out for dinner at the restaurant for a 3 course meal.Yum

Tuesday, we got up early and walked along the beach, looking for shells ( and boy did the boys manage to drag a few home), and a swim in the resort pool. Then drove south to MISSION BEACH.Just a divine day as you will see by the photos. The beach is spectacular and flat, perfect for water sports. We are going to stay at a resort there next time.

Justine and I sat and watched the boys playing in the sand, body surfing and digging for sand crabs.William got one too. Here is a photo of Jus and I on the beach at Kurrimine----and yes Maree, this was the day we sent one to you via your mobile.

Needless to say, you can all see we had a great time, so I won't bore you with any more photos, but you can bank on seeing them in the future on my LO'S. Loved the holiday and being away from everyday life, but it sure was good to get home last Friday. Thanks for reading and all your lovely comments about our gorgeous pussycat SOOTY.Hugs Mel

RIP to Sooty

We got home yesterday to find out our beautiful black 1 year old cat had died from a tick while we were away.He was such a gorgeous natured pussy cat and the boys adored him.We told them that he must have run away, as they would be heartbroken if they knew he had died from a tick, just like our last cat over a year ago.So Sooty you will be fondly remembered.

We will miss you

Kurrimine Beach...Here we come

It is here at last...our 5 day holiday at Kurrimine Beach. The boys are excited and I am madly running around packing and writing lists. We will be up early and off to Justine's by 7:30am in the morning.Hope to leave Jus's place by 8am and we are then heading to Cairns first to take the boys to a movie.Going to watch WALL-E,which I have heard is a great movie.Buy some groceries and then head off south about an hour and half away from Cairns. Can't wait to walk the sand and just look out to sea listening to the waves hit the shore.Very relaxing and therapeutic. The boys are looking forward to making sandcastles, looking for shells etc on the beach and swimming, swimming, swimming in the resort pool.

Anyhow , won't bore you anymore with all that. Before I go, I will leave you with a piccy of a card I made today for Jewls Challenge in our CC at Scrappile last night. Then I have a sneaky peek of a LO I finished yesterday for a dear friend of mine. Can't upload fully till she receives it in her hands.

Hope you all have a gorgeous week, and don't go doing anything I wouldn't do...LOL.Take care and hugs till I get back. xxoo

Our last SCRAP PILE Cyber Crop

CYBERCROP THIS FRIDAY AT SCRAPPILE

Jewls will be hosting our last Cyber Crop for ScrapPile this Friday night the 19th September, along with myself ,Leah and Leone( other DT).Our theme this month is "SPRING FLING" , and I am sure that there will be a challenge just right for you to have a go at.
Both Leone and Jewls will be hosting a BINGO game each, at different times, and I will be revealing a new game that I have come across. So , come and join in as we would love to have you drop by and chat and play Bingo with us, as well as create some LO's/cards from all of the challenges posted on the night. There are many GV's up for grabs so that you can spend in the store to purchase those things that are on your wishlist. Have a look here
http://www.scrap-pile.com.au/forum/viewforum.php?f=60

After much talk between Justine and I , it has been decided that Cyber crops will be finished for awhile, as it has just become too much stress and worry for myself and the other DT members, as well as there only being the same girls joining in all the time. So we have decided on a big change and I feel really good about it. It will be a lot less for me and the DT girls.
So starting next month, we will be revealing some new things happening around the forum .I know in my heart that this is the right thing to do and feel positive and confident that all will be well. So drop in early next month to check out all the happenings in SCRAPPILE.I think you will like it.

On a sadder note, Leah Mayes, who has been a part of our DT for a year now is leaving at the end of this month.I am really going to miss her passionate, vivacious and motivational nature on the DT.It truly has been a joy to work beside her and I am continually inspired by her Scrapping as well as her work ethic. We have grown quite close over the past year, and had the pleasure of meeting her and spending some time together back in June .I had so much fun Leah, and can't wait to meet up again soon.
I wish you all the best in your career path and being able to spend more quality time with your family. Also can't wait to see more of your scrapping in the Gallery....just cause you can....instead of having too.I know that feeling all too well.Hugs and kisses to you Mate.

Gorgeous Day in the North

It has been such a beautiful SPRING day here in Far North Qld yesterday and today.Clear blue skies and a light breeze blowing. Here is a photo I took just a while ago from my front door.

I have also been doing some scrapping, one I can share as it is a DT for Scrap-pile, as well as being a gift for my bestie Julie. She sent me a photo of her daughter Molly a few weeks ago, and I have only now used her photo.I have been itching to do girlie LO's lately, as I do so many boy ones.Thank you so much Julie for letting me have a photo to play with. This will be making it's way to you very soon.

I have left the journalling card blank for you to write on yourself Jewls.

Leah, has also very kindly sent me a photo of her DD Erin, and Leah, I will definitely be creating with this photo very soon too.I so loved playing around with all the girlie colours and embellies.

Hope you are all having a terrific weekend .I am counting down the days now till next weekend when we go away to the beach.

Change is as good as a Holiday

....well that is what I was always told as a child.Had nothing better to do and wasn't really in the mood for scrapping. So I decided to muck around with my blog.I haven't really liked it since I began, but I am much happier with it now.I am really into bright colours ATM, so that is why I chose orange.Just love it and teamed with green and black....yummo.

I have been rather slack with blogging lately, but have been trying to catch up on things at home and fitting in some scrapping as well.
Only 2 weeks till school holidays, and BOY, am I counting down the days.Jus and I are off to Kurrimine Beach for a few days rest, relaxation and time together.I am really looking forward to it, and I think she is too.
Have made a few bits and pieces over the past couple of weeks, so I will share with you.

I made this for Alan for Father's Day, with the boys help. They loved being a part of it.

This is a card the boys and I did using Jewls Challenge from the Scrap-pile Cyber Crop last weekend, thanks for the inspiration Jewls.Alan loves it and the boys loved being a part of making it.

Here are a couple of LO's that I have done. The first one is a DT one, and the second one was for my challenge in the SP Cyber Crop.I scraplifted Zetas LO in the SP gallery.
