A poem for Xavier

I just received this Poem from my SIL Ann, that was written by a friend of hers for Xavier. It is so beautiful and brought me to tears .

Xavier James Dempsey-Russo.
15/12/06 – 20/03/09
Family’s important. They’re ours, all life through
So make time to see them, whatever you do.
They won’t always be here; some day they’ll be gone,
So we need to share life before moving on.
We take them for granted and assume they’ll be there
Whenever we find some moments to spare.
But don’t wait too long ‘cause sometimes, unsuspected,
They may slip through our fingers, quite unexpected!
This happened to us with Xavier James,
Our dear little boy who loved all his games.
But now he’ll be playing with heavenly toys
In company with angels – sweet girls and boys.
Adrift in the heavens with stars up above,
He’ll be with us always, wrapped in our love.
We’ll whisper to him with each gentle breeze
And tell him we love him – and hope that he sees.
So let’s not forget how great families are,
Our sisters, our brothers, our Ma and our Pa,
Our aunties and uncles, each daughter and son -
Let’s put them together and love everyone!

  4. Mel, this just gorgeous. It, too, has pulled a string in my heart. I have realised that now is not the time to be having a difference of opinion with my poor sick Dad. I will pick up that phone and make that call tomorrow. THANK YOU.
